89 celeb 2.8 no pwr to fuel pmp

i seem to have no power to the fuel pump, fuses r good, pump is good,
started as intermitten prob so i changed pumps same thing . pump runs fine when i put power to the harness on the pump side. is there an inertia switch somewhere that may have tripped? any help or ideas would be app.

Should be a pump relay on the firewall on driver's side of the car, they do go bad too. Might post on this website, some guys there know their stuff but be sure to post in correct forum, they are picky about that for some reason. http://www.chevytalk.org/threads/ubbthreads.php

i don't know if this applys to 89 but many later year PCMs will only power the fuel pump with the engine running or cranking, by watching the CPS or oil pressure. and also run the pump for ~2 seconds when the key is first turned to on to prime the system. if this is the case shorting out the relay should work for testing purposes.
