it snowed 2 days ago here in connecticut. my s-10 is rear wheel drive its a 1993. the night it started snowing i didnt have any weight in the back so i borrowed someones shovel cause i was at work 20 minutes away from home. i shoveled the bed completly full of snow. i had alright traction in the back it was the front that wasn't catching the pavement. it didnt catch cause my front tires are balding. i have a 1993 dodge caravan with new tires on it that doesnt run. i was wondering if i could put those tires on my truck. they have the same wheel set up the 5 lug nut hole. they have the same 195/ 75 / r 14. i was wondering if i could put them on my truck for about 3 or 4 weeks until i get my new truck tires. the reason im not getting my truck tires yet are because i have a body lift to put on so im gonna put big tires on it like 29 i think i read on here is the biggest tire i can go. a simple yes or no would help me out because i think i understand the situation but i just need some experts on the truck to help me make the right choice. thanks.
s-10 is a light duty truck, i dont see the harm in putting those tires on your truck for 3 weeks or so. both vehicles probably weigh the same, anyway, so it shouldnt matter. just dont tow or pull anything with those tires on it.
Nissan, and toyota trucks are around the same weight as the s-10 and their 2wd pickups only have car tires on. So it must be safe.
I wouldn't run a big load though.
If the size is the same then check the load range on the sidewall. If the load range is the same there is no problem any time of the year or for how long you drive it.
