On the freeway going 0mphmopargrl 12-20-2004, 10:13 PM I have a 97' dodge Intrepid ES. I was driving home on the freeway and noticed that I had no gas, my odometer wasn't working, and I was going 0mph. Then I noticed that if I tapped the brakes it would go back to normal. Since yesterday it has been stuck showing everything "off". Has anyone has this problem or have any clues?? Thanks theFREAKnasty82 12-20-2004, 10:52 PM sounds like a communication problem with your instrument cluster. Go to a Chrysler dealership and have them check it out; they have the scanner that can test your cluster. mopargrl 12-20-2004, 11:03 PM I tried that but my mechanic said it wasn't registering in the brain (I'm assuming that the cluster and the brain are the same). The last time I took it in, my problem was only going on for 30 seconds at a time though. LHSDriver01 12-21-2004, 08:56 AM when the cluster goes out, does anything else follow? i.e. windows, locks, climate control, radio, etc? Sounds like a faulty BCM... or perhaps the cluster itself mopargrl 12-27-2004, 12:24 AM Sorry it took me so long... was out of town with the fam. How much does a BCM or Cluster cost for a 97' ES?? Any $ help would be nice, need to know what I am getting myself into. theFREAKnasty82 12-27-2004, 10:44 PM they can run you anywhere between $200-$500 mopargrl 12-28-2004, 08:43 PM Wow, why did I think it would in the K's. Anyway thanks for the help. Burnout524 01-05-2005, 02:46 PM If you or you know someone who is handy with DIY car work, check out a local junkyard. They usually have a large variety of parts real cheap. For example, I went to the salvage yard to buy a CD/Cassette combo radio for my Intrigue for $60. It would have been double that at the dealer or online. Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
