Question what do you think about Ls-1 rx7 conversion

The 93-95 mazda Ls-1 convesrion can be done at http://www.hinsonsupercars.com/. the car comes out 2800lbs,and you dont even have to change the rear end (3:90-4:10 gears) you almost don't have to prep the ls-1 because the weight of the car makes up for it. well i want some opinion's and make sure you watch the H7 video's of it racing newer corvette with stokerkit.

Be an awesome machine when done. Getting it done might be the ultimate nightmare though.

Well when you are talking about weight it would probably just be easier to build up a 64-66 mustang. They weight the same as the RX7 or even less and they come with a V8 and you can put a 9" Ford in them. If you want to put a V8 into a light car put it into a 240Z or a Porsche 914. Those cars are nearly 1000 pounds lighter then even your RX7. I dont mean to diss your car at all. I think it is an interesting car though. Have fun with is man and goodluck.

Re: what do you think about Ls-1 rx7 conversion

well i did want a car that turns heads, and 64'66' mustang's, there common where i'am from, im just not a ford guy.I like the 93-95 rx7, because half of the people don't know what kind of car it is,and it looks up to date.I refuse to drive a secretary's car(mustang).

Re: what do you think about Ls-1 rx7 conversion

Yeah mustangs are a little overdone especially 64-66 mustangs. Very unique though, turning a new jap car into a beast with an LS1. Around here though RX7 are prevalent but they still have their rotary motors with the turbo(s) not with a V8. I myself dont like the idea of putting an American V8 into a new Jap car, as bad or even worse than, in my opinion, as putting a Chevy V8 into a Ford or the other way around. I have heard of Volvos with chevy 350s in them. MAKES ME WANT TO CRY!! Poor Poor 350!

I like it, I can't imagine the blood, sweat, tears involved in a project like that. Nice job.

Re: what do you think about Ls-1 rx7 conversion

hell thats why i payed hinsons for the conversion. 6k$ for labor and modified parts, 5k for ls-1 driveline.5k for the car(blown motor). the H-7 handle and out performs better than a c5 and nose to nose with a z06, my roomate has a 99.My roomate wishes he didn't pay 36k for for car.his c5 value already dropped to 28k.

Re: what do you think about Ls-1 rx7 conversion

a will always be a chevy man, but i guess i just love cars in general. im only 23 and ive owned 12 cars, even a 65 el camino with double Hump Heads.i chose the rx7 because the perfect balance, and they made less than 30,000 cars for for the 93-95 years.
