Question wont start in cold

my 02 trailbazer would not start on the coldest night of year so far in st.louis. Every thing hooked to battery was working. When I turned key there was nothing. A jump did not help. It was towed to dealer and started for them next morning. they state everything is okay with car.
Can anyone explain on cleaning of the throttle body or give me other suggestions?

Won't Start

I have a 2002 that I've had towed twice in the last week with the same problem. Of course when it's at the dealership it starts fine. If anyone can tell me what to do to fix this I would appreciate it. I love my trailblazer but I can't put up with this. Thanks

The anti theft will engage on rare occasions. (never my experience) I do know if you lock the doors with the remote and walk away for 5 or so minutes it will fix itself

Re: wont start in cold

There is a severe problem with the Passkey system on these GM ignitions. Unfortunately, Gm doesn't know what to do about it.

The way to get them to start is to turn the ignition on for 10minutes then turn it over without shutting if off.

I am currently dealing with the same issue. I have been towed off the mountain in Utah twice already. The dealer checks the computer and find about 18 or so errors and says the computer is crashing but they dont know why. Once the TB gets warm it starts with no problem. Drove it back to Las Vegas and took it to the deal here, they replaced the ignition module and said it was fixed, this is the second ignition module that has been replaced not including the one it came with. Anyway, head back up to the mountains and its well into the 20 degree area and guess what no start, call for another tow truck and decide I'd find the problem myself, this only happens when the car is cold, so I figured I'd warm it up. But this time I'd warm it up one senor at a time. I was trying to fool the computer into it thinking that it was not cold outside. I check about 3 or 4 senors and figured I'd warm up the ECM, low and behold it fired right up after about 90 seconds hold a blow dryer to it. Drove it back to Las Vegas and explained this issue again, the dealer called TAC at GM and asked if they had ever heard of such a thing, they said no but a new down load should be added to the ECM. They did that, this time after the down load they stuck the ECM in the freezer for about 4 hours. Installed it and no start. They way you'll notice that it will not start is that the under score below the gear selector PRND321 will not light up. The vehicle now has a new ECM and I will be headed back up to the mountains to see if it starts this time. The dealer now is not sure if the bad ECM's have been causing the ignition modules to go bad or vise versa. we'll see. Good Luck
