I just got a bandpass box with 2 JL 10s, and I am going to run the power cable to the trunk, where my box is. Is there any convienient locations on the firewall that I can push the thick 8 guage wire through???

I know a lot of you guys have bumpin systems, so maybe you can help me out...

Thanks

Well you need an amp in order to push your woofers...

run it through a rubber gromet through the firewall... should find one near the drivers side. Take off the sides there and the "dead pedal" if you got an auto and pull back the carpeting... take out the door sills and run it right along that allllllll the way to the back. Not too hard, you will figure it out.

There are several places directly below the battery...
I ran mine right beside the A/C drain hose... just taped the end of the cable to a flat head screw driver and shoved the two between the rubber gromet and the rubber a/c drain hose... perfect place for me :)
I have a 98 EX coupe by the way... pretty much the same as the 97.

Yep, that's it! Also, what kinda amp are you going to run? It will also sound better w/ a built-in crossover so you can filter out the highs and just have bass! Have you replaced your factory speakers yet? I just like loud systems that sound CLEAN where you can hear everything in a song, and not just rattle, boom, rattle! Just my $.02

This is the amp that I will have the subs on

http://www.storescanner.com/product.asp?id=2960

Its a JVC 150Watts RMS to 2 Channels- its definately not the best, but it will work just fine, and once its all wired I can easily change to a better amp in the future- likely a JL amp.

I have already replaced all the factory paper speakers with nice pioneers that have great high and mid sounds, but they arent too good on the lows- 2 JLs should take care of that...

I just hope I dont rattle the crap out of my trunk- I hate rattles

You can always take out your back seat if you don't use it! IMO your system will sound better and your car will be a little lighter. I've got a 97 ex coupe and I'm going to take mine out just b/c I never have more than one other person in my car-that's what my brother's 4 dr accord is for!! I knew a guy who had one 12 in his prelude and he didn't have his back seat in. His system sounded TIGHT AS HELL!
OH yeah, make sure you get that alarm!!!!
