500 watts mono into 500 watts into 2 seperate speakers?

I have a JL adio mono 500.1 amp. and two 10 inch HE2 DUAL voice. An audio Spec. said if i do this to both speakers than I will have 500 watts running to each speaker instead of 500 to just one speaker........each speaker has two pos. and neg. plug ins, and the plug ins are adjacent to each other........ by hooking up a positive to the adjacent negative (on the opposite side) and then runnig both neg. and pos. to the amp. as if there was only one set of pos. and neg.... IS THIS TRUE.

no, and never ask that guy for advice on anything again

500 watts to each sub would require 1000 watts in total, your amp can't produce 1000 watts, only 500. You would get 250 to each sub.

he was right about hooking them up that way, but as sr20 said, you will have 500 watts total sent to both subs, (250 each) which should really thump.

1) dead thread...
2) you gotta know more shit about the shit you buy, before you buy them.
3) this is the place to learn exactly all that, but you gotta put the effort into basic research before asking something.

So, as far as what crude info ur giving us, i guess i can say yes... it'll thump, any sub will do that for u.

no. they're cuspid.
n e way, read everything in here: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=382679
You should be able to power those 2 10s with a cheap amp. i'm guessing that the specs on those subs are overrated. (ur right about cheap, they're goingfor $10-$20 for a pair of those subs... you get what u pay for)
