Where to get a new winch line?Schludwiller 06-15-2001, 12:34 PM Anybody know a good place to buy a winch line. I broke mine and need a replacement. Oddly, none of the the on-line places that carry Warn winches seem to have the cables listed. I'm thinking of the Masterpull, but with my body damage costs, I'm not sure if I'll have the extra $$$ for it. ScottG 06-15-2001, 02:36 PM I have 100 ft you can have if you want to pay the shipping. I bought a peice of shit Chicago Electric winch from Harbor Freight and through everything away except the cable. Dude, you read his post about the $1600 ouch, guess you didn't read close enough... "Next attempt was putting the winch line underneath the truck and going for a backwards pull to get the truck over the tree roots. I started pulling, and felt a sharp tug, but was making progress on the roots. Then a snap, a loud noise and the truck dropped back down. The winch cable had moved into the corner of the two roller fairleads and snapped against the metal. I was asking for more info on what actually happened to the winch line: did it snap cleanly? Did it unravel and then break in half? Etc. I probably lost about 30-40 feet of the 100ft line. Philosopher 06-15-2001, 05:07 PM Originally posted by Schludwiller It snapped cleanly. I probably lost about 30-40 feet of the 100ft line.
