Does anyone know anything about the Bomz CAI's on Ebay? They say they fit the 1.8t but Im not sure, don't think it comes with an MAF sensor either do I need that?
Thanks.

BOMz = ebay intake = just like any other intake. if its cheap, then you'll get the same results as any other intake. all intakes are the same (only really applies to 18ts)
and your car already has an MAF...
and if it says it fits the 18t, then it should. if it turns out it doesn't, give him bad, nasty feedback! haha

Dont waste the money on a CAI... they dont give any more power gains than a neuspeed intake. Plus cheapo intakes on e-bay have shitty short life filters that dont really filter and come apart.

Plus cai filters get dirty 5times as fast cuz there in the area where dirt and water are.... u dont want some cheapo e-bay filter there... a

I believe the ABD with the LAN pipe gave like 13whp to their 1.8T GTI.

but so does every other off the shelf intake. on a 1.8T, any intake works. and by anything, i mean anything. a filter on a stick is a filter on a stick. ebay intake = $30. and so waht? bad filter? buy a new filter for $50. total price = $80. AEM sells theirs for up to $200. same results. ABD sells theirs for i believe $150? i forgot, same result. a filter on a stick = filter on a stick

the only difference is in the sound. as for power tho, a filter on a stick = filter on a stick = filter on a stick, dont get brainwashed by the companies

thanks for your thoughts. i picked one up and after a somewhat difficult install and very tight fit it is operating pretty good. great sound!
