Angry no heat!

i have a 96 grand am gt and there is no heat coming out of the heating system. i have changed the thermostat and also the heater core. and yet i am still having problems with it. the air in the heater core is hot but when it goes into the vacuum chamber it gets ice cold i have checked for leaks and there are none and i also sealed it up. it blows warm air at my feet but cold comes out defrost and the other panels. help.

Sounds like you have a damper problem. On my 93 it is a manual assembly and the clip popped out of the cable assembly that controls the damper door. Dealer charged me $50 for a 30 second fix.....because "it took us that long to diagnose the problem."

do you happen to know where the damper door is located so i can check it.

On the 93, it is enclosed on the passenger side below and behind the glove box, not to be confused with the fresh air damper that is vacuum controlled. If your heating controls are manual (cable controlled) follow the cables from the back of the selector console and they should lead you to the where you want. On mine, it was a cable and about 3/4 along the way there was a rectangular plastic protrusion from the cable that needed to be inserted into an assembly on one of the heater passages.
