'99 Tahoe - Slip yoke ??'s

Hey guys, My 99 Tahoe only has like 55k on it so far. I bought her used and right off the bat I noticed a clunk when taking off after a complete stop. I informed the place I bought it from in OK, and took it to a Gm dealer here in town. And after looking it up on the inet learned that on 99's the slip yoke was improperly lubricated from off the line. I also read where other people had had this problem and even after lubing after about 10-15k miles it would clunk again. I dealer told me that GM came out with a nickle-plated yoke, but the guy informed me that he had put those on other tahoe in the past and the clunking came back after 15-20k miles. Any of you guru's out there know if there's any truth to this?
