Grand Am DRL Headlights always come on no daytime running lights? sensor location ?

1996 Grand Am, SE 4cyl (not Quad) 115k miles
Automatic, A/C and Cruise, manual windows and seats, not remote entry either.

Already have had the ignition lock problem. I have to press a button on the bottom of the steering column to be able to turn off the key all the way off inorder to remove the key.

Recently noticed my headlights and dash lights are coming on no matter how sunny or dark it is. So the switch that changes from daytime running lights and night time lights is not functioning.

Or the sensor that determines which to turn on is not sensing the time of day correctly.

Can someone tell me me where the light sensor is located? If it's on the dash; I do not keep anything up there. I can see see the sensor anywhere.

Also I pulled the dash facing off to change some burnt out bulbs on the dash and have since noticed when I use the cruise control it works great but there is no light coming on in the dash saying I am in crusie control mode. I didn't take the instrument panel out so I am not sure why it stopped working or where it is at.

If you have any info please email me at axtellfr@yahoo.com

Thanks

On my 94 it is centered under the defog. grates in the dash pad.

Try looking from outside the car through the windshield.

My 96 there is no light telling you your in cruise control. The DRL photosensor is located under the defog in the middle of the dash. You remove the cover, and then all the way on the right you will see a round type thing, thats the sensor. My DRL are really messed up and idk whats wrong with them. But yea thats where that sensor is.

Ok I will look once more. I wonder if mine could have fallen down into the dash compartment as I have not been able to locate it.

I will check again. Thanks

Today I had the Service engine light come on locking the ETS light on as well.

Any Idea's on how to reset it short of disconnecting the battery?
