need help with a 94 sunbird

hi I need help with a 94 sunbird with a 2l engine belt on the AC compresor snapped but the ac didnt work anyway(freon was all gone when we got it. but now the engin really over revs at idle (dont know for sure if it is related to the ac) but is there a sensor or somthing that could be causing this?? I think the vacume lines are ok but is there any place you guys could recomend I start to look

if i was you i would take it to like auto zone or advance auto the can help you and if they cant i would go to a garage

You need to look around the throttle body. That is probably where your issue is. The belt has nothing to do with idle. Good Luck.
