Hi, All
I did a search in google for my blazer and stumbled on this great forum i never seen and figured i would join and post any help i my have to offer.
I have a 1998 chevy blazer i bought new, drove it for 2 years and then started having minor problems, alot of what i see posted in here,
leaking oil from oil lines on the oil pump, replaced them and costed me 150 bucks in parts, another was the heat problem from chevys horrible dexcool antifreeze, problem fixed by baying a flush kit and flushing in both dirrections and putting the green stuff in, cuz of that i had to change my water pump a cupple weeks later and never had that problem of loseing my heat again, it was worth it. front end was another problem i had, balljoints cept going on me, i finaly stopped that from happaning by replacing both bearings and fixed that problem, now i never
replace balljoints, its been over a year :}.
now on with the wiper problem, just started happening with my truck
and didn't have time to resolve yet, i will post when i get the time to look at whats happening.
well let me tell you some of the good things i did insted of just my problems i had, got board of the power the vortec had witch at 190 hp
from stock isn't bad, but for me its not anough. so i started with a throdle body spacer, didn't do to much but something, installed a cheap
air intake from ebay, did alot, sounds better and better pickup,
the mass airflow senser i was going to replace till i took off and seen that all you have to do is pop of the grid thats inside if it and does the same thing as a performence one, did wonders :}, next i figured i had anough air going in my motor but wasn't letting anough out, installed
a gibson cat back, did alot :}, next i wanted headers and figured out no company makes headers for 1998 blazer .
anyways so i figured whats the difference between my 4.3 and one from a 1996 pickup 4x4 and bought edelbrock headers for a 96 pickup 4x4 and they dropped right in :}. those headers did more then anything i did,
i raced a silverodo with a v8 and blew his doors in :}
well anyways thats my story i figured i share, hope to hear others and mybe give me more ideas for upgrade and hope i gave others some.

Re: New Member

do you have the single exhaust coming from your headers? or did you dual your exhaust?

Put the screen back in your MAF, it is there for a reason. If not, your MAF will be ruined within 20,000miles and you will have to replace it.

I left it single, the headers bolted right in perfect with the gibson cat back.
