But anyways... There is no "best" engine for a civic. Look at the Swap thread on the '92-'95 forum, it will give you most of the info you need to decide. After reading that you need to figure out; how much you're willing to spend, how much hp you're looking for, are you going NA or FI. If you use the search button at the top of the page, you'll find any and all information you're looking for.

no the GS-R is a DOHC motor. And the H22 will cost a lot more than putting a GSR into the car.

Re: h22 or gsr ??
Oh yeah, i forgot the point of the thread, i would do some research on the h22 and figure out if the weight thing is true, if not, then the torque from the large displacement would be better better because it's kinda hard to get alot of with small displacement engines, but if you want a fairly easy swap and space for your a/c and power steering if you want them, go with the gs-r engine. Also, the gs-r engine can be good for both FI and n/a.

It's not true: http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=684550
The motor is tilted back a little, throwing off the balance of the motor; which creates understeer. Believe me if the motor weighed a ton, there's no way my weak ass could help my friend lift it up 4ft in the air off the pallet it came on; and I did.

Re: h22 or gsr ??
so it's the way that the engine sits that causes the understeer, ohhh, but you still get a steering downside to the swap right?
