I knew something was gonna happen...I made a topic sometime before about how I heard something boiling under the hood and had responses about coolant going into the overflow tank.. and so I told my dad about it..but I guess he doesnt really listen or care about the car..and that was his car before too. I rode with a friend from that point on..but but my dad as stubborn as he is has taken the car to work for the past few weeks and lastnight he just barely made it home..the car had a some hose blown and coolant was everywhere and steam was going everywhere..... I nearly cried... the car went to the "doctor" .. now.. obviously the car overheated..but my dad didnt turn off the engine immediatley..he drove it all the way home.... O_O ... will my..car...be saved......thats all I wanna know........ -cries- oh yea..and my dad is bastard!! >_> GAH

yeah.. but when your car overheated, did you push it and still drive?? I would think you're smarter than that and would probably stop the motor.

worse comes to worse, fix the blown hose and filler back up. Try driving it gently. If it doesn't wanna go, or you hear a bunch of bubbling, then you could try some copper sealant to hold you out for a few days/weeks. But I'd be saving some money for a new motor.

Well alright..the guy I took it too replaced the hose..changed spark plugs. I didnt ask him to change them but he did anyways -shrugs- He said that the engine was ok... =\ So, after paying over 200..took the car from the shop..car was runnin fine all the way from Houston all the way to Sugar Land. Then once I get to my drive way the temp gauge goes up, buzzer, then the cap from coolant rezivor pops off =\ ..I got so pissed.. I dont think the water is circulating either. Im pissed... What should I do..

you should troubleshot it yourself, get your ass under that car and get dirty. 200$ for hoses and sparkplugs, pay me the plane ticket next time, it will cost you less and i'll show you how to do.

this is what happened to me my car over heated and caused the plugs to mess up, and the car didnt turn on untill i changed the plugs. Good thing he changed the plugs other wise you could have been left stranded like me.

The coolant is still spitting out like a volcano..
Should I just take it to a Mazda dealership and let them handle it..?

Where is it coming out at? I would start the car when it's cold take the radiator cap off and watch the coolent, if it moves then your water pump is working if it doesn't then you may have a bad pump. I had to fix a Cady that had a bad pump that a guy said had a blown head gasket. I found out the hard way the pump was bad, I grabbed ahold of the heater line and felt to see if there was pressure on it and the T pipe on it burst sending steam all over my hand no coolent at all. I wouldn't trust a dealership with a bicycle, most that I've seen couldn't diagnos a problem if you showed them exactly what it was and told them how to fix it (I know someone right now that is having problems with a dealership not being able to fix a simple trans leak).

Mazda dealers suually don't know how to work on the 7's.

Make sure your waterpump is working, and when the engine is cold and you're watching the radiator, see if there are any samll bubbles coming up. That would be indicative of a blown coolant seal in yer engine. that reqires a rebuild.
