More info needed...

There really isn't anything better about the 2002 compared to the 1999. Ram Air is an option package... it costs extra. The only difference is that T/A's are beat to shit when you buy them used. That is why I recommend NEW.

But how can you afford $32,060??? Even with $16K down, that is a lot of money to pay off in one year. Keep in mind, you usually have to make three times the amount of the monthly payment. This means you make $4750 per month!!! That is pretty da** good for a 20 year old. Hey, hook me up!!!

Go to GM Buypower to config your own...

Exclamation Delorean

Thank you for the help although it sounds very depressing.

The Most I would spend on a TA ram air would be 20 thousand that is it. So you think I can only get a 1999? I have seen some in local newspaper for around that much with low miles. So max 20 thousand so What year you think I should get a not get a crappy one?

You may as well consider a '98 as well, they are pretty much the same as the newer ones, when you get to the '97 they change a lot, so '98 and up is what you should be looking for. I suggest the WS6 if you can afford it, it looks just really cool. But if you aren't dead set on a Trans Am you can get a formula with the same options for less, only the spoiler and body kit will be different.

Okay, let me see if I can help out here.
The car you're looking at, a 99 Trans Am is a very nice car, especially the WS6 version. However, if you're looking for the same performance with a slightly better cost, you MAY want to look at a Formula as well.

A Formula is almost IDENTICAL to a Trans Am, aside from a few exterior panels. They both share the 5.7L LS1 V8, and both offer a 4 speed automatic or a 6 speed manual gearbox. Formulas do not come with as many STANDARD options as a T/A, but other then that, they are the same car.

You can pick up a '98 Formula for right around 16-20 in GREAT condition.
Also, check out the 'Classified' section at: www.LS1Tech.com and www.LS1.com. A lot of people that have modified their cars sell them on those sites and you may be able to buy one already modified (if that is what you're looking for)

Good Luck. Any other questions, feel free to ask.

Go to www.cars.com. They have alot of used ones for what you want with the options you want and most are either the Formula or T/A.

Did you check your insurance first to see if you can afford it? For a single male 20 year old, your payments will be massive.

I would rather get a 2002 model if I were you because you don't want someone else's problems and you will most likely have problems down the road if you buy used because we know everyone who buys these types of cars likes to hot rod them.

Good luck!
