'95 626 Automatc Transmission Shift Lever Problem?
My '95 626 LX automatic transmission does not respond to the gear shift lever. The lever moves into all gear positions just fine but the indicator on the dashboard does not change - shows that the transmission is in neutral. The indicator on the dashboard is working properly - it shows what gear the transmission is really in. It seems like the transmission is OK, but the gear shift lever is not "talking" to the transmission.
I can't get the transmission into drive or any other gear. Does anyone know what kind of linkage is in there (cable, sensor, etc.) and how to approach fixing it, or geting the car in drive so I don't need a tow to the repair shop? Thanks.
