im thinking of buying a 94 sc2 but it makes a ticking noise that is real loud when you start it but gets quieter but is noticeabe im pretty sure its the lifter but im not sure what to do about it if i buy it.

this starts to happen around winter, i think you are the 4th person in a week who has asked about the noise, it is commonly traced back to a worn timing chain that has contamanted the oil. the timing chain will need replaced and the oil watched extra carefully the next few changes.
