Cs1, Z4

This is what i read in this week's Autocar mag

BMW will unveil its CS1 concept at the upcoming Geneva motor show. The car is what will extend to become the 1 and 2-series.
The 1-series will be the 4 door hatchback and the coupé and convertible will be badged 2-series. The car is angular in design but very stylish, attractive (especially the cabrio) and has a very nice interior. It will be RWD, which will be at the expense of interior space, but the car does handle considerably better than its FWD rivals, the Golf and S3. Target weight is approx 1100kg, which will give it a significant advantage over Golfs, which weigh up to 1400kg. Engines will be 1.6l (approx 105bhp) & 2l (143bhp) petrol, as well as diesel option(s) so performance will be good. There will be an M version, which will have around 240bhp from a 2l engine that revs to 9k!

The Z3 replacement will be badged Z4, as BMW will badge all its coupés and cabrios in even numbers, as mentioned above the 2-series, the 3-series coupé and cabrio will become 4-series and finally the 6-series which will be based on the 5-series; it could have a 500bhp V10!!!

The future is looking up for BMW i'm sure you ll agree

cheers,
jay
