15w40 Oil..

Talked to the dealer and the oil in my 97 M3 is 15w40.. which seems a bit odd (sunny warm climate here).

I know that I should stay with organic and not syntheic, but I'm not sure about the 15w40....

Going to use it to get my oil level back up, and when its time for an oil change, then I'll change if needed.

Any recommendations?

Thanks,

PCH

I use 15w50 Mobil 1 Full Synthetic and car runs good! All stock 95 325is with 112k miles runnin' 14.86 @ 92mph in the 1/4 mile. Oil lasts pretty long too...

15W-40 in a warm climate sounds fine to me. I use Castrol Syntech 10W-30 synthetic blend all year arond in our Maxima. The 330 gets serviced at the dealer, I have no clue what they put in, but I do know it's synthetic. We do 10K oil changes on the Bmer.
