After deciding to stick with the d16y8 in my 00 civic I now find myself looking for ways to make power (i.e. turbo, sc, nitrous). I don't know a whole lot about superchargers as I have always been a turbo child. I am curious if it is practical for like a jackson racing supercharger to put out as much power as like a t3/t4 turbo. If so, what would I need to run such a setup? What would I need to do to the engine? Thanks for the help.

t3/t4 can put out way more power than a jrsc

what kind of "high hp" are you looking for?

if you are looking for a D16y8 going past 200 ponies, then a turbo setup is what you will need.

A JRSC is good, but, not for producing much power.

I personally would go with a B swap over a JRSCed sincle cam.

take a look at the Edelbrock Turbo Kit for the Y8. its a nice clean looking kit and makes a decent amount of power.
