newer chevy trucks

I am looking to but a newer chevy silverado. i have found one that i really like but it only has a 4.8L v8 are these motors any good. Or would it be better to find one with a 5.3L?

The 4.8 is a very strong motor, with excellent fuel mileage. I just purchased a 04 single cab 4.8 and I am very impressed. I drove both and to tell you the truth I couldn't tell that much of a difference since the 4.8 comes with 285hp since '03. GOOD LUCK!
