03 350Z Bose Stereo Questionsdalton13 11-22-2004, 02:00 PM Ok, here goes my series of questions for the group. I have been doing some research on the POS Bose System in my 03 350Z. The word from the campfire is that if I put in an aftermarket deck, to replace the re-labelled Clarion junk, that I should take out the in-line amplifiers to the speakers. Is this true? Sounds right to me due to their being underpowered. Second, I have seen some people discuss installing a new Sub behind the Driver's Seat, and adding an amp. Is this a good idea, and where do you put the Amp to drive the sub? Any suggestions on this? Lastly, an annoyance that I would like to get rid of in the short term. The damn Audio Pilot turns down the stereo when I slow down. This is driving me crazy, with no info in the manual for my year, and no quick fix in the Audio Controls. Anyone know how to turn this crap off? Mayday0017 03-01-2005, 07:41 PM To replace a bose system in almost any car and do it properly. (According to MECP standards) You need to remove all bose speakers and replace with new ones, you then need to remove the head unit and run new wires to each speaker location so the wires are not going through the amp you can jumper the wires at the amp and remove the amp but this is some pain and makes reversing the process 3 times as hard, I'm sorry no one on your forum can give people answers this Z forum SUCKS dalton13 03-02-2005, 11:24 AM I noticed an incredibly weak turnout on these forums. If its any consolation, I did get an intermediate solution. I had the deck replaced and threw a sub next to the rear Strut Tower bar. An amazing improvement, but I still notice a little deadness around the Mid-Range. I will likely replace the rest, but wanted to break up the expenses a bit. Hope my learning process helps, make sure to use the loopback for your remote in your deck wiring harness, NOT the obvious blue wire... PlatinumMOTO 09-13-2007, 04:44 AM My 350Z is an 04 and its got the bose I like it at times but then I'd rather have a audiobahn or JL but anyway my sub behind the driver's seat keeps cutting out I've taken it out and can't seem to find where it's not connected properly and I have no idea what I'm looking for I was looking for a loose connection but didn't seem to find one. I know that when I beat on the back on the right or left side of the speaker it began to work again and didn't cut out so I thought I had fixed it it's now doing it again. How do I fix this I know the speaker isn't blown it's just not connected properly I think. Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
