Question 2005 Grand Prix

Hey... I'm the proud owner of a Nissan Maxima, with 200HP with only a cold-air intake.

Ok, I just had to say that..lol... Anyways, I got a friend who just bought a brand new 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix GT. It's might sweet. We've already tested the Top Speed and even took a 10 minute video of it. 109 was the governed top speed.

Some questions...

1) How do we get rid of that governor? I'm sure Pontiac isnt gonna do it for us...

2) Where the heck can we get some upgrades for the car. I've looked EVERYWHERE, and the only thing I can find is some chip on eBay that gives you 22 extra HP.

3) What else can we do to make this car faster? I suggested a cold-air intake and then exhaust, BUT it already has a exhaust on it, which splits at the end into 2 mufflers. Should we still upgrade the exhaust?

4) If you answered #3, then where do we get that stuff???? UGH!

5) Anything else?

Thanks a bunch for your suggestions,
On behalf of my friend Tommy...

Re: 2005 Grand Prix

OK. The PCM has to be reprogramed. Most people buy a new one, that has been reprogramed. It does more then just reprogram speed limiters. But that another story.
You do know if you do anything to the car, your warranty is history, right?
Oh, here's another site for you. http://www.slponline.com/

Re: 2005 Grand Prix

hehe i think your friend should be able to afford internet access and a computer if he can afford a brand new 05 gt. but anyway just wanted to warn you about #2....dont buy that thing its a piece of junk.

from zzperformance.com what mods NOT to buy...

"An air temp module is simply a fancy packaged resistor made for people who don't know any better. Companies like SLP offer this for ~$25 and many are lured into purchase by it's low price and ease of install. It tricks your PCM into thinking it's cold outside and therefore "optimizes timing". In reality it does little to nothing and cannot change commanded timing by more than 1 degree (and that's on a hot day where you probably can't use the extra 1 degree of timing anyway). Save your money and don't buy it. If your curiosity gets the best of you, buy an 8k resistor from Radio shack and save $24.50"

what kind of performance is he looking for? how much is he willing to spend?
