Its gonna sound pussy but....

~160 KM/H [~100 MPH]

That was in my old 323, completly stock. It was limited to 160Km/H

I never got to try a top speed run after my engine swap, the car tore 2 trannys (1 auto, 1 std) apart after only 3 wks.

I think ive gone faster than this. My Speedometer in my caprice is the crappy analog verson from the 93's and it only goes up to 140 KM/H.

The Speed limiter has been removed, and ive taken the speedometer needle till I cant even see it anymore, but I dont have anyone that will pace with me with a decent speedometer, so I have no clue

about 105 in my bird I was passing someguy and had some friends with me so I was really just dickin' around I think the gov. won't allow it to go above 120. I really don't go that fast anymore. cause I'm afraid the engines gonna blow (it's pretty much done for:( )

I've pushed past 110 in my supercharged Cougar, following, or at least trying to follow, some of my friends who were racing

just yesterday a guy I know got pulled over for doing 147 in a 65 in his 2000 Mustang GT... lucky he had a platinum PBA card or his license mighta been gone, he got it bumped down to 84 in a 65, then about 2 hours later the dummy got another ticket 55 in a 40, think he might have learned his lesson?

I got ticket the day I was doing 137 - Monterey Co, CA - luckily the bird that got me picked me up after i wound down, me and a civic si both got wrote at 89 in 70. still $730 - but i think they made a mistake thats a lot of $$$$ :(

I've hit around 110-115 in my Green 98 Ram 1500 (bone stock with a 5.2 ltr engine) well over the 120 speedometer needle in my Blue 98 Ram 1500 (the one in the signature) tapped 100 in my moms Durango (2002 4.7 ltr bone stock 4X4) hit around 105 in my sister's 2000 Durango (4.7 ltr bone stock 4X4) around 105 in my best friends 93 Lightning (5.8ltr with a few bolt-ons, nothing major)

I have this addiction..... its called adrenaline, and the only way that I get massive adrenaline rushes is by going fast.....

280 kmh (175 mph) in the audi , relaxed , at night , on a long , empty and unrestricted highway in Germany...
I'm sorry , but i just couldn't resist... You must feel really pissed that other countries don't have unrestricted roads... I do too...:( , but luckily i live close to germany:D:flipa::finger:

And about 270 kph (169 mph) on a 110 (69 mph) road here in Poland ,not the smartest thing, the boost was too high , because i was still trying out different turbo settings , and it started making weird sounds so i slowed down , and this saved my license probably because there was a police patrol just when i slowed down , i consider myself really lucky with that one.

$730 that is a lot, here in NJ I believe that would be just under $200, but there are different laws, as the highest speed limit here is 65 and can only be found on the 3 major major highways in the state, everything else is 55 or lower...

Yeah , i'm only waiting until it'll get warmer and the snow'll go off , and then we'll see... She just had the clutch replaced lately , and a major service was done , so she should go like a dream , i don't know thought , because i don't use it in the winter. I would only fire her up like once a month , and keep the engine on for some time , because it wouldn't be good for her to stand like 4 months without doing nothing about her... I basically deconnect the battery so it won't get empty , and come 1-2 times a month to fire the testa up.... She's not at my house , it's in a garage near my dad's factory , if it was at my home i'll probably do it more often... Althought my dad won't give her to me that easily , not that he doesn't trust me or so , he just drives her all the time when it gets warm...
And the fastest I've been in? I wanted to sell the Audi and buy myself a Nowack M5 (530 hp) and i went over to nowack and drove their M5 up to around 310... (Of course i have had some nowack employee with me , but he let me do it , so i did:) ) I've never checked the top speed of the testarossa thought , because i have never took her to germany...

I've done between 150 and 170km/h before racing rice rockets,
they usually start to lose bad by the time we hit 120 cuz the Bonnevilles got the top end in the V6.

About the fastest i've pushed her is about 200km/h. I'm not sure, but
i think that's somewhere between 120 and 140mph.

That was when i was racin a 2002 Jetta and a 2000-2001 Grand Am GT.

I wish there were more accurate mph indicators on Canadian speedometeres, the Bonneville doesn't even have one! mine doesn't anyways........

It's simple to convert from km/h to mph! 1 mile per hour = 1.6 kilometers per hour. So to go from km/h to mph just divide by 1.6.

You said you've down 200, well 200/1.6 = 125 mph.

Personnally fastest I've gone is 155mph in my cousins stock 91 protege GT.

I have hit 85mph in my stock Chevy Caprice. Well actually 85 is where my speedo stops. I went past that until it hit a max speed bar. Then I went even further. Im sure the needle was close to breaking off, but the car didn't even top out. I could still feel it accelerating. A guess at my speed then was probibly near 120mph before I called it quits.

I got my integra up to 125 and i was still accelerating, but i was coming up on some stop lights. I did about 110 in my prelude on the freeway, and ive only hit like 95 in my rex. i got a ticket for going 80+ in a 55 and my ticket was only like $145. You got screwed man.

105mph for me in a stock 93 accord. Then I got passed by an identical car to mine, so I know it'll do better. I get nervous on the highway going that fast even though going down the same exact piece of highway every day for about 6 months and I've only seen the state patrol about 5-6 times. I gotta move to germany :D

just today i hit a tad over 120mph (my speedo only goes to 120) in a 35 zone.

but the fastest i think ive gone was in my friends 89 chevy truck with a 350, the speedo only goes to i think 90mph, but the little thingy wraps around and starts again, we wrapped it completely around to 55  and its like 10 or so mph before the line reappears at 0. we estimated we were doing 145mph or so in a stock-suspension chevy truck, scary stuff.

oh yeah a couple times i hit 600-something mph in an airliner. :D

ive buried the needle in my 87 lesabre, and it goes to 85 and i was well off of that, even after i slowed down it took awhile to get back on it. the buicks an animal! 205hp, 200ft/lbs its pretty fast

and this past weekend in my friends 92 explorer we killed the needle and had it all the way to D under the speedometer and where the gears are shown spedometer also reads 85

i imagine in my car i was at about 110
and in the explorer at about 100

speedometer indicated low 140's redline in 5th gear, very scary but still remarkably stable. this was on I95 at about 3am with no traffic at all. going that fast wasnt a problem and longer gearing may have gotten me to the 150's, braking was what made me nervous or slowing down period.. it was basically to see if the car was aerodynamicaly speed limited or gear limited and i never plan on going anywhere near that fast again.

BUFF_dragon

try going that fast in a full-size truck. It was the greatest adrenaline rush I've ever had... but good lord at the insanity. I can't say that I wouldn't do it again... but I will say that I won't do it in a non-performance oriented truck, I think the SRT10 RAM should be fun to do it in.... lol, can't wait to try one of these days (HEY everyone has a right to dream)

does a motorcycle count? My father has a R1 with a turbo on it, and I had it up to 170 on the backroads of the Palouse in washington, and our father-son project car 240z with 400 chevy and 6 speed went 160 till we threw a rod. not shitting you guys either. It doesn't take very long on a motorcycle to max out, and in the nw of the us, there are lots of unpatolled straight-aways.

A R1 with a turbo set at even .50 bar will generate something like 195 horsies. Getting up to 170 with normal teeth settings would probably only take about 15 seconds or so.

Did he change the teeth on the sprockets at all? if he did the speedometer could have been reading slower then you were going because R1 speedometer is off the gearbox.

all of
them on http://come.to/need4speed). Here are the figures:

Seat Leon 1.8 T 20V, 240 km/h
Volvo S60 2.4 A, 225 km/h
Fiat Punto GT, 225 km/h
Opel Astra Caravan 1.6, 210 km/h
Renault Clio 1.4, 202 km/h
Mazda 121, 180 km/h
VW Beetle, 136 km/h

Send in also pics of your car to prove how fast you have really been.

@neutrino: Yes these figures are downhill, on a flat stretch of the road there are usually 10-15 km/h less on the speedometer. But there is alway a challenge downhill, how far will the speedometer needle go ;-)
In the Clio (80HP) I have managed 202 km/h and made a picture of it only a few weeks ago. It was a long downhill and the personal best (until today), cruising speed is about 185 km/h on a flat strech of the road (I'll put it to the need4speed site, as soon as I have scanned it).
In the Astra (100HP) I have even managed 215 km/h, but the best pic I could make was at 210 km/h.
P.S. I know that the speedo is very optimistic at those speeds, so if the speedo shows 202 km/h, real speed will be somewhere around 190 km/h, but this is still very fast for such a small car.

many regards
Michael
