Own a 94 escort wagon stick, I was told that there is a fuse for ABS brakes, is that true and if so where is it located?

on a 97 model, it's in the fusebox in the engine compartment and it's clearly marked. Your owners manual should give more info as it should list specs for fuses.

I removed the abs fuse when the abs started to go bad, my brakes are working fine but I don't have abs.
