Does anyone have any experience with running boards on an 04 or 05 Sienna?

Step up through the side doors seems a little higher. Thought these may help ease the transition. Have not seen a van with them on except the pictures from Toyota, which do not show the depth very well. The question is are these wide enough and strong enough to be effective and yet not stand out too far?

Any price experience would be helpful too.

I had the running boards removed from my Arctic Frost Pearl 2004 Sienna XLE AWD.
The boards are very sturdy, and wide enough to be effective for smaller folks.
I'm over 6' 2" and I would constantly hit my head entering the vehicle so the dealer removed them!
They look sharp in their body color, but I'll have to sell them because of my height.

I have them on our Sienna, and although they are strong, (I weigh about 155lbs,) they aren't very wide, which makes them inconvenient even for shorter people in my family. Most people put their feet perpendicular to the length of the running board, and for this it is just too narrow. It doesn't stick out so that the van looks ugly, it's just only useful if you put your feet parallel to it. Pricewise, we had it installed at the factory for MSRP, at the dealer it will probably cost more.

Thanks for the reply. My dealer suggested an aftermarket brand, saying they were wider. I am stongly considering. We have the van now and the kids have some climb to get in.

I went out to measure a couple of measurements to help you with your decision.
Specification:

Width: 4 1/8 inch +/- 1/16 inch (total from side of minivan)
of which you have a flat surface of: 3 3/4 inch +/- 1/16 inch.
(The running board starts to slope downward after 3 3/4 inch. I measured all the way up against the side of the minivan so you can imagine losing a little bit because of your shoe butting up against the side.)
