how much does a stock like quality paintjob go for ? ive seen ads for a Maaco like company in my area goin for around $500 for one coat i think and a seperate clear coat. hows that sound?

i wouldnt go with maaco, as far as paint jobs go, u get hat u pay for. But if u dont care if ur maaco paint job starts cracking and peeling after a year, then it worth the money.

maaco paint jobs are completely crap. i had one on a spolier i had painted by them it faded to pink in about 6 months...save up and get a good factory paint job from a dealer not a bargain shop.

What kind of crappy bad information is that? Stock Honda paint jobs (as with almost all manufacturer 90's and up paint jobs) DO HAVE A FACTORY CLEAR COAT.They have a 2-stage basecoat/clearcoat paint from the factory.

maaco around here does a really good job, but they have really crappy paint. Thats the reason for the peeling and chipping. You could get paint and bring it to them. I painted my own car and it was about $40 lol. Gotta love the flat black. You could always do that.

this is exactly why i would suggest doing the work yourself. itl cost less, you get to learn how to do it, and you know how itll turn out. of course i suggest you have someone help you who knows what he/she is doing.

here were i live maaco is known for bad work. A guy i work with used to work for them, and like someone already said, the paint they use is no good..he told me it fades very fast
when it comes to paint and body work, u get what u pay for
