Lancer Evo...90redgt 11-12-2004, 01:41 AM This was at the track tonight. I didn't know it was an EVO that was next to me i actually thought it was a WRX they look kinda similar, plus i'm an idiot at imports. Anyway we get to the starting line after i do my burnout with my BFG DR's. Off the line he got maybe a car length on my before i started reeling him in. 1st was all him, i was like aww shit c'mon hurry up 2nd! hehehe. So i hit second trying to remain calm (yeah right, i wasn't about to get showed up by a damn EVO) and whew! now we're side by side. Powershift 3rd and i start pullin' hard get a bout 1 1/2 car lengths ahead. Powershift 4th gear and i'm wayyyy gone. I got my timeslip and here are our numbers. DR's kick so much ass, i'll never race on street tires again. I did pull off a few 1.9 60's. with 18psi in he BFG's. They make such a difference though seriously i'd suggest these to ANYONE who is having any kind of traction problems. Evo-----Me 1.8 60'-----2.0 grrrr 8.7 1/8mile-----8.4 here i come :) ET: 13.64@102mph------12.98@111mph yay for me! ;) GritMaster 11-12-2004, 02:24 AM Not too shabby :grinyes: Awd does help on a launch though, you need to practice with the DR's... 2.0 kinda sucks :P Boosted1 11-12-2004, 07:33 AM Good run man, those evo's aren't pushovers. I would love to see that GT in action. 90redgt 11-12-2004, 10:08 AM Not too shabby :grinyes: Awd does help on a launch though, you need to practice with the DR's... 2.0 kinda sucks :P yeah i'm still gettin' used to them, kinda figured out how they like to be launched. now the driver just needs to execute :icon16: 90redgt 11-12-2004, 10:11 AM Good run man, those evo's aren't pushovers. I would love to see that GT in action. i have tons of video i just gotta find someone who knows how to put it on the internet. i don't have the right connectors and program to do it. hehehe i'm gonna try and get together with carnut maybe he can do something. I have "In-car" vidoes and out side videos too. they look sweet. :smokin: TatII 11-12-2004, 12:52 PM judging from the EVO's 60 ft time. this guy knows how to drive. and his 1/4 mile time and trap speed is pretty dead on. that was a certified kill for a EVO. congrats. but he seems stock though from those speeds. kittedb18bt 11-12-2004, 01:50 PM once again i love your car. i want to see 60ft times like the evo had. keep practicing, we know you can get lower than that. 90redgt 11-12-2004, 02:34 PM once again i love your car. i want to see 60ft times like the evo had. keep practicing, we know you can get lower than that. thanks man, i did pull off a 1.95 60' ft and went 12.77@112mph...so that was good. Then a 1.99 and went 12.89@111mph. So if i can get a hold of a 1.8 then i'm goin' 12.60's on DR's maybe. -Jayson- 11-12-2004, 03:00 PM lol thats funny, my 60 ft is so fast compared to my actual ET and MPH. My best 60 FT so far was a 2.068, but my ET was 14.7 and my MPH only 91 MPH 97Lude 11-12-2004, 04:13 PM nice race 76455Firebird 11-12-2004, 05:29 PM You did a good job against that lancer, anything all wheel drive is gonna have a hell of a launch, but what matters is who wins. "It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile, a win is a win. Any racer'll tell you that." I can't believe I just said that! :loser: 90redgt 11-12-2004, 05:59 PM lol 90redgt 11-12-2004, 06:05 PM judging from the EVO's 60 ft time. this guy knows how to drive. and his 1/4 mile time and trap speed is pretty dead on. that was a certified kill for a EVO. congrats. but he seems stock though from those speeds. Agreed, i also think he was stock...but it's not often i get to race such cars. I had already beaten the SRT4 that was there, and for some god awful reason i got friggin' trucks to race, ultra lame. Lets see i beat an Explorer, silverado, slow ass bmw (don't know what model), then a few other stangs and then for my last race is when i went against the Evo. 2000LS1Z28 11-13-2004, 12:19 AM Good kill. I always had trouble with the clutch in my former Evo. I could cut a 1.9 sec. 60' times like it was going out of style at the track. Unfortunately on the street I could also cut a 1.8 sec. 60', so go figure how I got pissed off and sold it after all the clutch dilemmas ($1,000 roughly for a performance clutch install). They are great cars from a roll. Usually they lose power up top though. HighRev87 11-13-2004, 01:16 AM They are great cars from a roll. Usually they lose power up top though. I thought from a dig was the turbo-awd specialty? Skyline_R32_Canada 11-13-2004, 01:29 AM ya same here, i thought AWD would KILL from a complete stop and end up losing power down end, and that they werent that good from a roll cuz of the drivetrain loss fatninja19 11-14-2004, 04:33 AM ya same here, i thought AWD would KILL from a complete stop ... They sure do.. as long as you're willing to beat on your car a little. 2000LS1Z28 11-14-2004, 08:00 AM What the hell did I just type. I meant from a dig. I'm outta it. I gotta stop posting at night. 90redgt 11-14-2004, 11:57 AM lol emokid15 11-14-2004, 01:58 PM nice race. JohnC24 11-17-2004, 12:12 PM good job pushing that evo and figring it out. drftk1d 11-17-2004, 02:18 PM evo guys musta been a good driver in a stock car. 12's is fast for a street car, good jeob.
