Cassie just bit the bullet...
Well...It happend. I got into an accident. And Cassie aint cool. She's sittin' out at the tow service place right now, ripped up pretty nasty. Just so you know, the victim in the accident, a decent sized buck, is now resting up in deer heaven.
I was jumping on 54 headin towards Columbia to go check out some music. We weren't speeding, driving crazy, or not paying attention. As we pass under a bridge, my freind just shouts 'Oh Sh*t!', and the next thing I know, the car is basically side ways. The deer hit on the front driver's side of the hood. The tail end kicked out, and if it werent for BMWs DSC and me offering massive over counter steer, I would have been facing the other way on the highway. I managed to right the car back out, but the DSC had pulled a little to much, and we all but jumped off the road into a shallow ditch.
Me and my buddy are fine, but Cassie is a whole different story. I dont have a cammera to get pictures, but the guys from Progressive might take pictures that I can get copies of to post. I'll try to describe the damage-
Hood-Massive scratch along the hood, actually got under the paint, from where the deer's antlers scraped. Entire drivers side crunched in, and worst of all, the left kidney grill is gone. Like, the plastic didn't just bust out, the actual chrome lining is gone. Also, the front drivers side head light is crush bad, broken in three places, light bulbs cracked, and front glass piece non existant.
Bumper-Driver's side area was actually crushed in under the driver's side fender. This caused the fender to pop out, and as it came back in, it popped the bumper out.
Fender-Crushed in bad, pushed the wheel well in, and bent in the inner well in so that it was rubbing hard against the wheel, rendering it undrivable. Further the driver's side mirror was crack along the fold line, and it hit my window. THe glass on the mirror cracked, and the mirror housing itself is barrely hanging on.
Im really like, shook up about this. Just earlier today I was talking to a buddy who wanted to run me on the highway, and I said no becuase I dont wanna hit a deer. This is definately gonna put a cramp on my exhaust and intake. Hell, I'll be lucky to have the car back any time soon. The tow truck driver said it looked like it would be anywhere from $2000-$5000. Hopefully, a good amount will be covered by insurance. I just hope they'll let me take it to BMW to get it fixed, not a body shop around town. This f*cking sucks. Damint.

shit, im sorry bout the car. freak accidents like that are the worst. if for some wild reason its totaled, guess this is yur excuse for the 325ci manual, or that used M3, or maybe a used 330ci. who knows maybe this will turn out better than you had hoped.

Re: Cassie just bit the bullet...
Yeah, get a slightly used 330 Ci, those things are the next best thing to the M3 (not taking M5, Z4, Z8 540i into consideration)

Now i see that you posted that you hope they let you take to where you whant to be fixed. Well rest assured that you can decide where the car gets fixed. The insurance company has no right to force you on that one, and igone their recomended places too because that will be the cheapest. So find the best bodyshop in town and take it there.

Re: Cassie just bit the bullet...
Ouch. That's my biggest fear, hitting a deer. I don't have full insurance. If you do, then all you have to worry about is the deductible

Re: Cassie just bit the bullet...
Something you could try is get a qoute from an expensive body shop, give it to the insurance, have them pay you, and fix at a cheap body shop or even do it yourself. Just a thought

I guess thats one good way to look at it. At least we walked away, which is more than you can say about the deer.
