Hi guys!

I have Eclipse GS, year 1997, 85600 miles.

At 78.000 miles I changed A/C and power steering belt. Now the car started to get very annoying squeaky sound, which can be reduced if I spray silicon spray lubricant over the belt. Then the sound disappears. If i drive normally (not fully press the gas), then there is not much noisy sound or nothing at all, but when I start to fully load the car (going over 5000 rpm) then the sound comes back and it stays there (unless I spray the belt again).

What do you think is the problem? I didn't use the original belt but aftermarket one.
Could it be tension pulley? It hasn't been changed and I'm thinking of replacing it.

hmmm well check to make sure the belt isnt too tight on there, also check to make sure the belt isnt getting chewed up anywhere, if it is then check for sharp objects... if the silicone spray makes the sound go away, then perhaps the belt is too tight? :confused:
