Exclamation d 16z6 valve cover gasket problem

everthing is simple except for the part where the old spark plug gasket are not coming off of the valve cover. i purchased a new set which comes with a valve cover gasket, four spark plug gaskets, and five of the little circular pieces that the five screws go on. first problem is the biggest and the one i just mentioned. i tried prying it off but just tore it into pieces and the rest is stuck on the valve cover. as we all know i cant drive off because the valve cover is now not air tight. what should i doo????

Re: d 16z6 valve cover gasket problem

ive recently heard that you should change your valve cover gasket every once in a while or when you take out your valve cover, whether to paint or do whatever. so that s why i did....

Ok the spark plug gaskets have a rubber inside...which you tore...no big deal, the outside is hard plastic. Get a screwdriver and pry them out...they come out, it was kinda hard. as for those 5 screw pieces, i gave up on tyring to get the old ones off, so if you figure it out lemme know. Make sure to use some RTV on the corners of the gasket(the corners of that lump for the cam)
