Question Stuck CD

Help! I bought my daughter a 2002 Mazda 626 with a factory in-dash cd player. Yesterday it ate a cd. The cd is a commercially made music cd. The radio display doesnt show that it sees a cd in the slot. However, the slot is blocked (by an interlock??) so another cd can't be inserted. How do I get the cd out??

It happened to me too. A Bose system in my 2001. My son took it to a friend of his who works on them and he fixed it. If I understand it right, the CD goes in & the guard pins move into position so you can't insert another CD while one is present. There is a sensor at the top of the player that senses that the CD is in the correct position to play. This sensor malfunctioned on mine so the player thought there wasn't a CD in place but mechanically it knew it was there. Make sense? Anyway, unless you can replace the sensor yourself, your going to have to find someone who can. That involves removing the shifter consul trim and them pulling the player out...opening it up and going from there. Good luck.
