Gauges below Passenger Airbag (pic)rhombus 06-08-2001, 11:22 PM Saw this in a parking lot and grabbed a shot of the dash. What do you guys think? rhombus 06-08-2001, 11:26 PM This was the truck. It's hard to see but the front mud flap is paited black. He had some JAOS knockoffs on the back (white) I did like the Nissan logo on the side between the rear door and window. ToeJam 06-08-2001, 11:50 PM What is with the V6 emblem on the rear hatch (lower left side)? Crap like that just cracks me up. I don't know about those gauges. Looks like a show car to me, I won't even start on the brush guard crap. Maybe a fancy snow rig. I'm guessing all show and no go..... xterrabull 06-09-2001, 12:08 AM yah, maybe all show 'n no go...but not a bad show at all. I actually like the look of the gauges; & if they're actually functional? BONUS! ChuckH 06-09-2001, 01:15 AM Well, I guess your passenger could read the guages for you and give you ongoing detailed reports. It would be better to put a guage set down by the power socket or up the A-Pillar if you want extra guages. Over that far on the dash they are purely cosmetic even if they are connected. Schludwiller 06-09-2001, 02:39 AM Speaking of No-Go. We're heading out to Naches tomorrow Charles. 7am at Ellensburg McDonalds. We'll be coming out near Taneum/CleElum at the end. Whoohoo! ChuckH 06-10-2001, 03:15 AM Well, did you find any good trails? 7:00 in Ellensburg is early. Why'd you do that? Ick! :( If the weather is OK tomorrow I may try and get my aluminum pedals installed if I can cut them to fit. I'm tired of the rubber pad thingy coming off at one corner and sticking up. Don't worry, they're the Sparco racing pedals I pulled from my Audi and not clip on Riceboy models! :D Philosopher 06-11-2001, 02:00 PM Originally posted by rhombus So this in a parking lot and grab a shot of the dash. What do you guys think? I think I'd love to have those gauges. But not between the glove box and the air bag. :) You think that guy could fit any more shit on his roof? I'll refrain from picking apart all the stuff that I don't like ... OffroadX 06-11-2001, 02:43 PM Originally posted by Philosopher You think that guy could fit any more shit on his roof What, a few lights and a folding shovel on a Load Warrior is a lot? Brent Philosopher 06-11-2001, 02:46 PM I was looking at it wrong - the building behind it looked like boxes of stuff on his roof. BTW - that's not a real shovel, that's a pooper scooper. Matt Peckham 06-11-2001, 02:51 PM Originally posted by Philosopher I was looking at it wrong - the building behind it looked like boxes of stuff on his roof. Yeah, and what about that satellite dish mounted to the building on his bumper! He better have some extra stiff springs to drive around with that! Hey, but it's not as much stuff as Carlton! :apoke: OffroadX 06-11-2001, 03:50 PM Yah, Here is the shovel I carry. (http://www.rei.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=3414&prmenbr=8000) Brent Mobycat 06-11-2001, 05:07 PM I have just a folding one from Sunny's...but I think I'm gonna get one from Sears - looks just like the one you have, but it's Craftsman...meaning Guaranteed for Life! And only about $8, IIRC. Originally posted by OffroadX Yah, Here is the shovel I carry. The plastic handle/shaft broke on mine the second time I used it. Bah. Brent Synchro 06-11-2001, 06:10 PM why not just go to a real surplus store and buy a US army folding shovel. the real deal. heck i am carrying the one my father had with him during 2 tours in vietnam. they are still the best. OffroadX 06-11-2001, 06:29 PM Folding, schmolding, I don't need no folding shovel... Brent Matt Peckham 06-11-2001, 07:00 PM Craftsman fiberglas handled post hole shovel. long, narrow, light and strong. Great for digging out around rocks and even works well as a lever to move large rocks. fits pretty snugly inside or against a rack. Mobycat 06-11-2001, 09:16 PM Originally posted by OffroadX If the one you have from Sunny's is the same one I got from Sunny's, it's complete crap. The plastic handle/shaft broke on mine the second time I used it. Bah. Brent Nope, no plastic on mine. Wood handle and metal scoop, nothing more. And a nice little leather wrap for it too! Damn...my truck has leather in it! warmonger 07-06-2001, 09:27 PM Hey, you watch that pooper scooper s#$% now! :-) I spent six years in the military married to one of those "pooper scoopers" and I still carry one in my truck today. Beats the heck out of the ditch diggers! Takes up less space and I don't have to replace my rear bumper or put a massive rack on top to fit it. I just toss it in my gear box and it's out of sight, out of mind until I need it. Came in real handy on July 4th when I had to relocate a wayward jellyfish. It is also handy for putting out fires that other pr#$%& start during fire bans in the forest. Of course, if you get into a fight in the woods the ditch digger would offer superior fire power...;-) Originally posted by Philosopher BTW - that's not a real shovel, that's a pooper scooper. rrdstarr 07-06-2001, 10:17 PM Warmonger, I spent ten years with an E-tool in my alice pack and still carry it in my essentials box to this day. But I think I am needing a full size shovel, cutting a tree root really sucks with an E-tool! Do you use and X-tower and multimounts to strap it to the rack? ToeJam 07-07-2001, 12:23 AM This is the shovel I carry in my rig... http://www.glock.com/e-tool.htm It is compact and light weight. A four position shovel and saw... what else do you need??!! A four position shovel and saw... what else do you need??!! Cool, just like a Max-Axe. Goliath the X 08-22-2001, 09:28 PM Guages to Shovels:confused: I would love some extra guages, voltage would be nice, tranny temp...etc. I agree they are useless where they are, the A piller would be much better OffroadX 08-22-2001, 11:51 PM Just like the rice boys :) Brent Goliath the X 08-24-2001, 01:33 AM What..... Rice Boy????? The A pillar is the only logical place to add guages. Unless your a poser and just want them for show under your air bag.....Is that your X Brent? warmonger 08-24-2001, 04:18 AM Goliath, I have seen two people add gauges to their truck that look decent and is functional. I put my gauges in a custom-made panel where my little slot used to be in my center console. You can see it at my website. I have a voltmeter that reads both batteries and an air pressure gauge for my on-board air system. Another guy on another board replaced his double din radio with a single din unit and put the gauges in the leftover slot below the radio. The good thing about that was that he could use standard gauges, I couldn't due to the small size of the console area. Unfortunately I don't have a website for him. His photos were posted on the board and are no longer there. But it was definitely a great setup. My setup works good, but his was great. OffroadX 08-24-2001, 07:47 AM The only vehicles that I have ever seen mount gauges on the A-pillar are rice rides. Same goes for those that mount 'em on the cowl in front of the windshield, always on redneck rides. Of course, that's just my opinion.
