B16A2...Turbo...eventually both, but what for now?!?Schister66 11-06-2004, 06:57 PM I have a 97 Civic, it is my second car, but my first Honda...my whole families first Honda...so needless to say, they don't have a clue. I want to know what i should do. Do i buy a B16A2 engine to swap w/ my D16Y8, or do i buy a turbo for the D16?? Is a turbo with 8-15 lbs of boost on my D16 going to be interchangeable on a B16 in the future? Does it make more sense (power wise) to buy a turbo and bottom end for my D16 and swap the performance parts over to my new engine, or do i buy a B16 and save for a while and finally buy a turbo for it. I run into a problem because i have to pay for college, unless i get some scholarships (very likely...i hope :uhoh: ) Or do i keep my Civic the way it is, sell it in four years and pick up a quasi-used Evo VIII MR for around $18,000. I want a fast car now, but just can't justify having a nice and very fast car over being able to pay for food for me and my girlfriend Michelle. Life is getting in the way of my dream car:cya: ! WHAT SHOULD I DO!!! civickiller 11-06-2004, 08:03 PM heres what i would do, keep the y8 in yoru car now. buy a b16a and build it on the side, once you get everything throw it in your car. thats kinda what like im doin now, got my stock motor in. i got 1 ls short block and 1 ls longblock. im gonna throw the longblock in and turbo it, and build the short block on the side. i too am a college student so i barely make any money so my project is gonna take a while Schister66 11-07-2004, 03:51 PM I was actually thinking of maybe...just maybe keeping me Civic as is (some mods) and when my girlfriend and i get married, which we have been talking about (engagement), i might give it to her so she has a nice car and buy myself a nice new present. Maybe a second generation 300ZX twin turbo or my dream car,a used Evo VIII MR . That is more what i am leaning towards because i have no room to do any work on my car. Dreams get put on hold because life gets in the way sometimes. That's the harsh reality i've started to accept. I'll have to wait until i'm 24-25 until i can start seriously doin' work on cars again. :bloated: Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
