head gaskets & block guards

Will theses help in a turbo application. If so how would they help. Would I be able to boost higher. Also have you seen the head gaskets they have for integras on ebay, does anyone know if they atr any good?

yes these will help, but i cant really answer the rest of ur questions without knowing.. 1. what kind of engine are u doing this to? 2. how much boost are u looking to be able to put into the motor, 3. how much HP are u looking to produce?

a thicker headgasket will lower compression, allowing you to boost more safer. lower compression pistons would be a better choice. as for block gaurds, the subject is up in the air. some people say they are bad because they prevent coolant from circulating, others will swear by them. another choice is having your block sleeved. more money though.

I have a 98 gsr and I would like to boost it at 10 psi. I am not concerned with how much hp. Whatever hp is the result of 10 psi I'm cool with it.

leave the internals stock, get a thicker headgasket and a good tuner. 10psi no problem.

Block guards solve the well known weekest link in honda blocks, they are very good IF INSTALLED RIGHT. you should loosly fit and tig weld then machin it flat then bore. or if using a press in install it then bore.
if it is just installd you run the risk of distorting the upper part of the cylender bore by up to several thousands of an inch.

how well would a b18c1 stand up against 10psi? they're 10:1 cr and a headgasket isnt going to lower it that much. anyone with personal experience know?

What about the thicker head gasket would there be a problem installing it or would it be fairly easy? How about the head gaskets for integras on ebay are they any good?

if you know how to remove the head of an engine, itll be no problem at all. just watch what you buy on ebay, a headgasket is a very important part, and you dont want to end up getting a thinner head gasket off ebay(raising your cr) and try to boost

I'm thinking about getting a cometic head gasket. I was wondering what size bore and thickness would be good for my turbo gsr which I hope to boost 10psi.

get some 9:1 or 9.5:1 pistons, stronger rods, and a set of ARP headstuds.
