two general questions.

1) when does a clutch need to be adjusted?

2) sometimes when I shift into second gear the car stutters. Almost like I shifted at a low RPM but it's been at a normal RPM. would that be a clutch issue, or a timing issue? Or something else?

If your car can still shift gears and accellerate, then you are fine.

You say the car stutters. where? have you tried to pinpoint to the chassis, suspension, drivetrain, etc,etc,etc?

More info is needed.

Is it only second gear that stutters? My dad's truck had that problem once, but it was through all the gears, the tranny mount was broken.

It stuttered like starting in gear at too low of a RPM but I had the RPM normal. It's only happened a few times. not sure if it was still cold and I bogged down the throttle. Yea the clutch lets me shift fine and doesn't slip when I hit the gas. I guess I'll have to make better mental notes on the whole situation if or when it happens again.
