Warm startup and power surge problemsgonetobama13 11-03-2004, 08:08 PM I have a '99 Silverado 5.3L automatic. It's been suggested a number of times that warm start up problems can be caused by a bad fuel pressure regulator. I've had that problem for awhile. But lately, I'll get an unexpected power surge that lasts less than a second. It's happened three times while I've been waiting at a stoplight. If I didn't have my (right) foot on the brake pedal, I probably would have run into the back of the car in front of me. Is this also an indicator that I have a bad FPR? I had my jets cleaned and a new filter installed, so I don't that's the problem. Any suggestions? Thanks. TexasF355F1 11-03-2004, 08:11 PM I had that exact problem for over a year. It ended up being the fuel pressure regulator and a clogged fuel filter. gonetobama13 11-03-2004, 09:44 PM Thanks for confirming what I suspected. Kooterskkar 11-03-2004, 09:56 PM I had a similar problem in my Corsica that was a bad TPS. Cant hurt to get that checked as well. gonetobama13 11-03-2004, 10:01 PM What's a TPS? gonetobama13 11-03-2004, 10:22 PM Never mind, I got it...Throttle Position Sensor.
