I know this has probably been asked many-a-time... but whenever I buy aftermarket headlights or taillights, they always leak on me.

I come home from a drive and look closely and there is like 1/2 an inch of water sitting in them. So I dry them out for a day and put that rubber-rope sealer around the whole outside and any place I could think that water would come in. Sure enough, they still leak.

What do you guys do? :confused:

And if you can, be as specific as possible. (Brand and such, etc)

I just take clear silicon, whatever brand works, and be generous with the amount i put on there. You could drill a tiny hole in the bottom of your lights too. I did that for my tails on my civic.

So basically just put the silicon on around the entire edge where the lense meets the housing (where the bulb is) right?

Water wouldn't happen to come in if you put a hole in the bottom of the lense would it?

How big of a whole are you meaning anyway?

Just layer on the silicon around the housing on the lights. I'd suggest a hole about the size of a pencil, and put it in the bottom of the light, not on the side or anything like that. That way water doesn't come in and only goes out the hole.
