Accessory Light Questionchuck16 11-03-2004, 04:12 PM Hey Guys, I'm going to be adding some LED Lights along my Running Boards of my truck and I was just going to tap all 6 off of oneside of the corner lights. Anybody have any thoughts? Or Should I Wire 3 off of oneside corner lights and the other off the otherside???? Let me know your thoughts. I'm just worried about tripping the fuse by adding lights but, I don't think that they draw all that much. Cheers Evan  silveradoman 11-03-2004, 07:49 PM I wouldnīt worry the least bit, each LED draws 20mili-Amps, I would take a 600 ohm resistor and paralell it to the LEDs, donīt put them in series or each LED will look dimmer than the one next to it broughy84 11-03-2004, 08:45 PM that is the way I did mine. I wired the passenger side (8 LED) to the Drivers side (8 LED), then one single wire to the cornering light on the drivers side. I thought about taping each side indiviually, but to the turn signals so they would flash when the turn signals were on, but a friendly police officer (Indiana State Police) advised me that it wasn't such a great idea. chuck16 11-04-2004, 12:54 AM Cool thanks guys. I'll test wire it off the truck first to make sure they are all the same intensity. The lights are a sealed kit and have two LEDS inside each housing so, I'm hoping they don't lose in intensity. These are the lights: http://i11.ebayimg.com/01/i/02/b0/31/43_1.JPG I'll post pics when I'm done the install. Besides my signature needs a new updated pic of the truck anyways. :P nineball481 11-04-2004, 06:30 AM If you put a resistor in parallel to the lights, it will have no effect, you will not stop any voltage. If you need a resistor, put it in series (like an in-line fuse) with the power. Then wire each light in parallel after the resistor. Each light will glow the same with this setup. If you want a generic picture of what I'm talking about, let me know. jeverett 11-04-2004, 08:11 AM I need to update my sig picture w/one with a whoppin dent in the door! chuck16 11-04-2004, 11:21 AM Dents BAD Smooth GOOD :D silveradoman 11-05-2004, 02:00 AM Sorry, meant to say put the resistor in series, with all the leds in paralell Nigel215 11-05-2004, 10:09 AM I have to get everyone a pic as well....
