Question My car smells a little

You can detect an odor of something burning or something like that from my 01 Eclipse GT Spyder...You can smell in it inside and outside of the the car.... It has this smell after it has been running for a little bit and especially after you get it moving....This smell occurs if i do not spin any tire or anything.....

My car is not leaking anything and i know that it has enough oil...(Mobil 1 Synthetic is what i use) and i change that myself and that level is fine.....

If you have any ideas....lemme know

maybe your brakes or rotors. my vette used to get that smell after hard driving, until i got vented disks. plus it runs hotter than other cars....it sits in the grage now(475 a month 4 insurance)errr. The 'clipse gets the same smell after hard braking.

maybe hot tires or tread compound.. idunno just giving you ideas....

If its a manual, it could be your clutch going out. Burning clutch stinks real bad. It kinda smells like a combo of dead fish and brake pad. haha

My car has a manual tranny in it and i was thinking bout this..... I had my clutch replaced in july which is only 4 months ago. Could it have been improperly installed or something by my mechanic? The clutch feels fine like for going into 1st and shifting gears

Tommorow i am going to sniff around a little (literally) lol.... hope i have some luck...if not give me some suggestions on what it mite be thanks

my 01 spyder was leaking antifreeze only after it was running for a while and left a distinct odor. check your radiator hose clamps too make sure they don't allow leaks and burn the antifreeze. make sure the cars been running for a while and is fully warmed up.

Maybe somebody pissed on your car? j/k

Seriously though, this jerk that has a corolla and think its the shit, had his car pissed on at a party. A friend was telling me the story. I guess he suggested pissing on the car but didn't have to. So some other guy went and pissed on it, but pissed on that part between the hood and the windshield where the air goes into the car lol. So like the next day the guy comes home and is like damn my car stinks! I guess he did get the smell out after a while. No one ever told him or anything what it was.
