too many problems, help?matthew5608 11-01-2004, 09:40 AM ok, i bought my car a year ago, it had been stolen someone messed up the ignition, so i put in a push button start, before putting the car on the road i put a racing beat intake manifold and an edelbrock carb on it, when i would drive my car for the first time in the day it would start and run like a champ, after i shut it off and went to start it again it made a horrible screaching noise but would eventually start, i changed the starter and had no luck, then i took it and had a light weight flywheel put in and that solved the problem (so i thought) i drove the car around like that for a little while then my battery started going dead on me all the time, brand new battery, checked all ends etc. so i changed the alternator, no luck, changed the voltage regulator, no luck, looked underneath and saw a wire that had broke and came off of the starter, so i re-connected that, charged the battery and drove it for about ten minutes stopped at a store came back outside tried to start it and that screaching noise came back, i hadn't heard that noise in at least a month. should i just push this car off a cliff? please help!
