Damn Infiniti

Guys, i have only TWO complaints about my car, first it should be faster we all know that, and second for 23GRAND WHERE THE HELLL ARE THE CUPHOLDERS? Everytime i go to a fast food place i have to pull down the back seat cupholders and put my drink there, sucks doesnt it. I dont know what Infiniti was thinking when they left that big open space there infront of the shifter. Just a thought!!!!!:confused:

look over the forum- we have a few guys who have put in aftermarket cupholders on their cars with good results.

i personally have one that mounts on my AC vent and it doubles as a cell phone holder when i'm not drinking anything. works great cuz it holds the phone up high and you can see who's calling when it rings w/o grabbing for it and when it holds the drink- the AC chills the drink just cuz it's right in front of the vent.

yeah, bummer. i have looked around, and this is the best solution i have found. i am going to get one when i get around to it.

go to your local vw dealer (just sack up and do it) and order a passat cupholder. you can mount it on any flat vertical surface (like on the right side of the shift console). it has two holders, and folds shut. It is VW part number 3A1 862 531 01C and is around 35 bucks, maybe less.

My G20 came with a cupholder on the back of my glovebox door. I just have to be careful on the turns.:smoka:

yeah, i took mine out of the armrest. didn't want to make a drink explode while shifting! when i get a slurpee, i slide it in the space between the seat and the door to the left. just gotta remember to get it before opening the door! :eek:

I Know what you mean, WHAT THE HELL WAS INFINITI THINKIN?!?! There is so much space in the middle counsole, you would think they would come up with a better set up, Also WHERE THE HELL IS THE ASH TRAY?!?!?! there is a cigarette lighter but no ash tray?!?! I don't smoke but come on everyone needs a change box!!!! and i hate the stupid cup holder in the small glove in the middle console, how the hell are you suppose to be comfortable driving and having a drink there especially if you have a stick(shift)!!
And what the hell is the empty space in the front dash?!?! what the hell are we suppose to put there? it's not big enough for a disc book, and if you put other shiit there everything fly's around and falls out of it!!!! Hey, that looks very nice. But I called 3 different VW places and they told me $43, $41 and $40 for it. I wonder if I can bargain with them. :D

in that little opening area in front of the shifter, i usually put change for tolls and all that

my p10 has a pullout ashtray right under that opening under the A/C panel ;)

I thought there is one cup holder (one shalow one in front of the shift knob) and one in the arm rest compartment.

I have 2 shallow divots in my glovebox door, a very wide open area right infront of my gear shifter, and a slot right below the HVAC controls where the ashtray was removed and now a light shines down upon the wide open area right infront of my gear shifter :flash:

I might just see if I can get my VW friend to get me the hook up on that cupholder above for cheaper!!!!! :hehehe:

go down to your dealer and get the ashtray piece.
it replaces the (mine was the shitty fake wood) thing that encompasses the cig lighter, cup holder with no room, and the shifter.
That whole things snaps right out, just pull up where your shiftboot meets the plastic, on the side by the parkbrake.

The replacement comes with a lighter, and 'lighted' (oooh-aah) ashtray, and is not that fake wood BS, it is black plastic like the rest of interior.

I found the original change/cup holder, the change does not have the same lateral G rating that the car does.

oh, yeah, mine is a stick, don't know about you automagic guys.

If there is interest, I can search for the box in the garage and get a part number.

Walmart has 6 or so different kinds of cupholders for $10 or under right now, including the air vent one, the fold out one, and one that "wedges" between the center console and your seat. Check it out.

At least they have it at Super WalMart, don't know about SmallMart. :p

Can you get that part # ? Have any Pictures ? also how much they run about ? so the ashtray replaces the so called "cup holder" ? phat, wanna see pics!!!

i got one in my front arm rest too, its removable so i took it out to stick all my wonderful junk in it. an as for my one under the radio, i can only fit pop cans in it so i just use it for change now. If i ever have i drink in my car i use the arm rest in the back seat, but i have to reach back every time im thirsty... "pant pant pant" but yea our p11 cupholders suck doo doo.

Bro dont bother getting that ashtray part, keep the fake wood. That ashtray thing for the p11 makes your car look cheap. I saw it when i had just gotten my wood kit, i didnt want to put the matching wood over the cheap piece that comes with the car so i went to the dealership and bought the black piece, the first time they gave me the wrong onwe thats jow i know. I put it on too to see how it loked, it looks like $hit. Thats part of the SMOKERS PACKAGE.
