Hello everyone. I recently aquired a 2000 323I from a private owner. Everything seemed fine when I originally looked at the vehicle. Now I'm noticing if I open the sun roof, it will only open about 3/4 of the way. Didn't notice that before?? Normally if you want to close it, you just tap the close button forward and it will close. Everything seems fine as its closing, no irregular noises, but when it goes to close, it will raise up, like if you want to open it to vent and then sink down below the roof level. Either that or it will attempt to close, it will lift up and down about 3 times and then open about an inch or so. You have to open it and close it like 5-10 times before it will actually close, but even then it does not seem like its working properly. Also I noticed when using the heat, there is an odor of burning crayons?? I know VW's had this problem and they found a way to resolve it. Anyone know if these issues can be resolved without taking out a mortgage at a BMW Dealer????

First we'd need the full model designation, it could be an E36 or an E46, though I think you've got an E46 sedan [4-door].
