I drive a 95 Explorer with about 150,000 miles on it.

Recently the "OverDrive Off" dummy light has been blinking whenever the car is on

Furthermore the car seems to be driving as if the OD is indeed off

Toggling the button on and off makes no difference.

If anyone has any idea I would appreciate hearing it. Thanks

Without a hands-on diagnosis, I can only say the trans. is malfunctioning. It could be an electrical, hydraulic, or mechanical problem.

I know basically nothing about cars but I had the same problem with my 95' explorer. I disconnected the battery for a few minutes for a few minutes and that solved the problem for a while. However the flashing o/d light came back. Then I replaced the throttle position sensor and reset the battery again and its been a couple months and been fine.

Check threads in this forum. There is someone with the same problem
