Automatic power loss

well got my ass handed to me tonite by a civic lx..

i got a 97 LS with a short ram intake

the civic has a cold air

but its stick... and mine is auto

im wondering how much power am i losing from my auto?

also.. i noticed this
i beat him the first 2 runs.. when my engline bay way "cooler"
but as soon it warmed up to 1/4 on the gauge i was falling behind..
now i know im not supose to run it hard when its cold.. might crack a head
found that out tonite.. friend told me

but yea.. how much power am i losing from the engine heat?

20% loss to wheels with auto, .5% from heat.
