I believe you're wrong. Jimmy 09-05-2001, 03:15 AM Yes there was an 4x4 version as well. http://surf.to/rs2000 check this link to see for ya self. this is a person who do own an rs 2000. DVSNCYNIKL 09-05-2001, 07:57 AM Originally posted by Jimmy Yes there was an 4x4 version as well. http://surf.to/rs2000 check this link to see for ya self. this is a person who do own an rs 2000. If you look at the one you provided in your link, and the one that I provided in mine, they are two different types of RS2000's. The one I posted is the one he was referring to. Jimmy 09-05-2001, 06:58 PM it's actually a Ford RS 200 that's a totally different car... and yes the rs 200 is way faster.... Mr. rallycross Martin Schanche drove one with 641 bhp 0-100 kmh in 2.5 seconds that's 100 km in 34 meters http://www.rally.no/rs200.html faster than a Mclaren :flipa: Dillweed 09-05-2001, 11:45 PM The one I was looking for is the first link posted, so DYMEIFHJ(D??'s one. Neat car anyway. The RS200 that Jimmy is referring to must simply be a real modified version of the RS2000. Right? Jimmy 09-06-2001, 02:52 AM The rs 200 that I referd to is the top of the notch! It was so fast that they had problems with the tires, the rubber got twisted of the wheels. Mr rallycross modified it with own custom made parts, so it could withstand the power from the engine. parts from airplane's and such were used. It was up for sale some time ago, and i belive the price was 1,5 mill NOK. that's 3 times the original price tag when it came out in 85 or so. And the question to the topic was about the Rs 2000, and I belive the figures I posted about the Rs 2000 is correct. And the figures you posted about the Rs 2000 is the correct once for the original road version of the Rs 200. Dillweed 09-07-2001, 12:15 AM I got what I wanted and then some. I didn't know that there was an Escort tagged with the name RS 2000. We'll have to specify then if ever it comes up again;) MarkW 10-26-2001, 06:22 AM Check out the links below for more on the Ford RS cars www.RSOC.co.uk www.RS2000-16V.com The RS200 was built to compete in the Group B Rally Series until the Group B cars were banned from competition. Used a mid mounted Cosworth engine and wasn't based on the Escort. The RS2000 on the other hand was based on the escort and Jimmy is correct with his figures Rob XR 10-27-2001, 08:32 AM RS200 As shown at the website at the top, this was based upon the RS1700T engine and had 4 wheel drive. The RS200 is quite a rare beastie and was purpose built for rallying. The name "RS200" came about because 200 were produced so that it could enter its class. The RS200 along with other cars within it's class were banned from rallying as they were deemed to be too fast!!! this was after a few tragic accidents involving spectators :( The RS2000 is quite a different beastie once again, came in the form of the european mk1 and mk2 escort for rallying and ford brought back the mk5a RS2000 as a "special edition", the mk5a are FWD and a few are 4WD with a tranversly mounted 150bhp 2.0 Zetec engine. The mk1 and mk2 escorts were RWD using a 2.0 pinto power plant. The pinto was developed by Cosworth to produce a 16v turbo pinto engine, the engine was used for rallying but in the form of the mk1 Sierra RS500 Cosworth and was extremely successful. Hope that clears a few things up :) Rob Rob XR 10-27-2001, 08:43 AM Sorry I don't mean 2.0 zetec as I said above. The mk5a RS2000 used a 16v I4 engine that is a derivitive of the Sierra inline 2.0 DOHC 8v I4 engine. Rob maria_khokhlova 06-10-2011, 08:25 AM The Ford RS200 is a mid-engined, four-wheel drive sports car produced by Ford from 1984 to 1986. The road-going RS200 was based on Ford's Group B rally car and was designed to comply with FIA homologation regulations, which required 200 road legal versions be built.
