Re: Lowering springs
I have a 95 VR6 with eibach pro kit spings, giving it a 1.2 inch drop, as well as the eiback pro damper struts. My rims are 18's, w/ 215 35 ZR 18's for my tire size. I had the lowering and tires done at the same time, and on the drive home from the tire shop, every time I hit a dip or bump, the rear tires scraped against the body. I soon found that I couldn't have more than 3 people in the car, becuase the weight would cause the car to scrape constantly. I had my rear fenders rolled, which helped a bit, I can now have 4 ppl in my car, but it will still scrape even when I go over small bumps. The car looks amazing, but if I had known it was going to be this much of a hassle, I wouldn't have lowered it. The sportline springs drop the car even more than the pro kit, so unless you plan on spending a lot of money on body work, I would suggest skipping the lowering all together and just going with the 18's. I had a 2.0 liter before my VR6 that was lowered on 17's, which worked out fine and looked nice as well, which may be another option, if you wanted to go that route.
