Angry Engine ticking (like diesel)

...but probably a bad lifter. Have had it since Day one on 2002 I-6 and I'm still mad. Dealer says it's normal, maybe injector noise. Sounds like crap. Anyone been able to solve this? Worse when cold but never goes away entirely (well almost never). Thanks for your help.

Ticking

My dealer said it's a early problem GM had with the I6 engine. GM will replace the pistons with longer ones if the noise is not exceptable to the customer. GM supposedly changed the design in later production. GM also says it does not affect the preformance nor longevity of the engine. Also, check with your dealer on the 7/100k warranty extension on these engines. I am going through the same ticking with my dealer right know.
